Hope you been doing well! So can you believe that 2024 is already almost over?!?!?! 🤯😩
If you've been in the Kaiju Club for a while, you know I like to go HARD during the end of the year! 💪😎
1. We got the Kaiju Club survey coming up which gets you a gift for completing it, and you literally control was 2025 will look like for us! 🤩
2. Black Friday is right around the corner and I got some SICK deals planned I think you're going to love! 👀
3. All month long in December I'm planning on making a bunch of completely free exclusive stuff for you as a bunch of holiday gifts! 🎁
But I actually wanted to reflect on this year real quick! It's honestly been a super WILD but also equally as awesome year for me, and I hope it has for you as well! Of course it's had it's ups and downs that I'll get into below, but I'm definitely feelin' like this year was kind to me, and I'm feelin' good! 😁
What's been rad too, is I wanted to share a bunch of polaroids from this year with you! I don't know why, but a lot of my homies have been into polaroids lately haha! 😂📸
It's been nice to see them, because to me they HELLA remind me of like those video games that show you a screenshot of where you last saved? Like Fallout 3 or something? I don't know. Maybe my brain is weird? To me, polaroids are shaped like they have video game menu vibes LMAO! 😂
And I bring this up, because this is actually the theme of an upcoming album of mine from my Aviscerall Hip Hop Beatmaker music alias! 🤯👀
So! Let me share some of these real life video game safe file screenshots, also known as polaroids, that I took from this year with you! 😁🎉
This Polaroid is of me, the Simpsonwave TikTok Viral Vaporwave legend himself FrankJavCee, and the Groovy Kaiju Album Narrator Daniel (NetNavi), all having a ton of fun at Fool in Love festival here in L.A! We got to see LEGENDS like Charlie Wilson, The Whispers, Nile Rodgers, The Temptations, Al Green, and more! Honestly the festival was so badly organized LMAO! But the music and vibes were sick, and it didn't bring us down! 😁🙏🎉
This polaroid is me, the Future Funk legend Fibre, his fiance Sara, my partner Jessica, and amazing friend & DJ & Physical Therapist & FrankJavCee's partner Marion! We took this photo as Fibre was in town for Tune In Tokyo's Anime Summer Kick Off event! And we spent the whole week together, and honestly it was probably some of my best times with friends visiting ever! I love my friends haha! 😭😁😎🙏🎉
This polaroid is Zaku86, my good friend and resident DJ of Tune in Tokyo, and me! We took this photo while playing at a meet and greet for the Future Funk legend Night Tempo! It was an awesome road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and it was quite the adventure! So many new good memories and awesome inside jokes between us hahahahaahaha! 😎😂
Lastly, I wanted to share this Polaroid of my good friend Randall at my 29th birthday party this year! 🎂📸
This one is different from the others, and I honestly spent a lot of time thinking if I wanted to share this with you! It's a sensitive subject, and throwing out a trigger warning here if you are sensitive to loss of people! 😯
But unfortunately, in a year full of highs for me, it definitely came with the lowest low when my VERY good friend Randall, the one in the polaroid above, suddenly passed away about a month ago. 😭
Randall was someone I hung out with quite often, as we were both key parts of the Crystal Nostalgia show I used to run here in L.A! Like 80% of the photos you've seen of me over the past two years, it was probably taken by Randall! He was an absolutely AMAZING person, super wholesome guy, and an even more awesome friend! 🙏
Again, I was really struggling to decide whether or not to share this here, particularly because of thoughts I had about parasocial relationships, and like using my friends legacy in my art and business stuff. 🤔
But, I just want to make clear, I decided to bring this up because I really really really wanted to share the importance of these polaroids and photos! 😁
I'm not the type of person to reach for a camera all the time, but thankfully I am surrounded by friends who are. Documenting these moments, your life, and friends are super super important, because you never know what could happen next. 😥
I know it's a bit cheesy and geek-y but I've been trying to remind myself to take more photos, just like how you and me both probably ALWAYS save before that boss fight in a video game, or like save every time you find something cool in a game, for the same exact reasons we take photos in our lives haha! 😂
So I hope my polaroids, photos, memories, friends, and my upcoming music can remind you to document your own life and remember to save your game of life! 😁🙏📸
